MANGAL PANDEY
Mangal Pandey was born on July 19, 1827 in Gaon, Surahurpur, Faizabad. Many people believe that Mangal Pandey was born in a village called 'Nagwa'. This village belongs to Ballia district.
Mangal Pandey did not study in any school. His grandfather used to write them-taught. They were fed up with the oppression inflicted by the British on the Indians. They were waiting for their grown up.
Mangal Pandey was admitted to the army of the East India Company on May 10, 1841. He was an ordinary soldier of the Bengal Army. They were soldiers of the nineteenth and the thirty-fourth regiment. Mars always opposed the wrong policies of the British Indian soldiers were not satisfied with the activities of regiments of Barrackpore and Burhanpur. In the regiments, the religion of both Hindu and Muslim was destroyed. They created cartridges, which would destroy the religion of both Hindu and Muslim. They were made from cartridges of pig and cow fat. Those cartridges could not be filled in the gun without being wet. When they came to know about this move of the British, the soldiers of both the religions were thrilled.
On March 21, 1857, Mangal Pandey opened the first shot against the British in Barrackpore. Then they were twenty-six years old and two days nine days old. In the history of Indian Freedom Struggle, the first shot was shot against the British. This was the beginning of the revolution.
In a planned manner, Mangal Pandey and his associates came out of their barracks. They fired on Sergeant Major James Thornton Hmusen, Lieutenant and Adjutant Wendy Henry. General manasses also came forward, but they did not run bullets on them. They shot themselves. They were arrested. The preparations for the independence war of 1857 were going on inside, due to Mangal Pandey's impetuousness, the plan was taken by the British and they made full preparations to crush this struggle.
Mangal Pandey was sued They were sentenced to hang Indian Krantikari Mangal Pandey was hanged on April 8, 1857.
